Angel Gil Lopez: Filmmaker/Owner of Ghetto Blaster Productions

Hello, my name is Angel Gil Lopez. I am an independent award-winning filmmaker and part-time videographer of Ghetto Blaster Productions. I started my production company 9 years ago when I first realized I wanted to be a filmmaker after a revelatory high school project. Since then, I pursued this passion in the form of education at the University of New Mexico in Albuquerque, NM. I graduated with my Bachelor of Arts degree in Media Arts in May of 2014.

Under Ghetto Blaster, I have completed numerous short films that have helped me hone my craft. Three of them, two as an undergraduate, were screened at local festivals/showcases and even placed second at the 2015 Animal Humane NM Internet Cat Video Festival. During the summer of 2015 as well as between January 2016 and June 2016, I taught filmmaking workshops/programs to middle and elementary school students of Albuquerque, NM and San Anselmo, CA with the assistance of Americorps and the San Anselmo Recreation Department. The students produced their own short films of any topic as well as created movie posters and soundtracks to accompany the premiere.
